Achankovil

Achankovil forest region in Kerala is famous for its Lord Ayappa temple. It is believed to be one of the main temples of Lord Ayyappa, it is believed that the idol here is consecrated by Lord Parasurama himself. The temple is similar to the famous shrine at Sabarimala. The Manalar Falls and the Kumbuvurutty Falls, which also has a Nature Interaction Centre, are along the way to this temple.
There is also the Achankovil river formed from the streams of the Rishimala River,Pasukidamettu River and the amakkalteri River. This river enriches the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala state. This river joins the Pamba River at Veeyapuram in the Alappuzha district of Kerala in South India.
